1.Removing old stuffing and checking the stuffing box is a key part of pre-installation preparation. Before adding the packing, take out all the old packing with special tools, wipe the packing box clean, and observe whether there are any defects such as damage and eccentricity in each part of the packing box. Damaged valve stem, shaft sleeve and packing box can affect the performance of packing. Check if other parts are still applicable. Replace all broken parts.
2. Choose the right packing for ceramic fiber
Two things must be considered when choosing a ceramic fiber folding block.
The requirements of the working conditions should be consistent with the performance of the packing. The packing that best meets the requirements can be selected according to the relevant technical data. If in doubt, consult a sales representative. The packing size must be correctly selected according to the sealing requirements. To determine the cross-section, use the following formula:
Cross section = (stuffing box diameter - valve stem diameter) / 2, the damaged device may need a slightly larger cross section packing to make up for the damage.
