In the current industrial thermal insulation materials, the most commonly used thermal insulation materials are ceramic fiber thermal insulation materials and rock wool, they have a certain thermal insulation effect, but the prices of these two products are very big differences, so what are the specific differences between the two products that lead to a big difference in price?
01 Differences in production technology
Ceramic fiber bulk cotton is the high purity clay clinker, alumina, silica powder, chrome sand and other materials in the industrial furnace at high temperature melting, forming a fluid, and then choose compressed air blowing or spinning machine spinning, through the cotton collector gathering, forming blowing cotton and spinning cotton, acupuncture can form ceramic fiber blanket. Fiber cotton can be further processed into fiber blanket, board, paper, cloth, rope and other products. The color is usually white. Ceramic fiber is an efficient insulation material, which has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, low thermal conductivity, good softness, corrosion resistance, small heat capacity and sound insulation.
Rock wool is natural rocks such as basalt, gabbro, dolomite, iron ore, bauxite as the main material, through high temperature melting, fibrosis and made of inorganic fiber. Fiber processing, can be made into board, tube, felt, belt and other products, the color is usually yellow, should be used in construction and industrial equipment, pipeline, kiln insulation, fire, sound absorption, seismic and so on.
02 Difference in Temperature Resistance
Ceramic fiber cotton has more advantages in long service life and large fiber endurance. Ceramic fiber cotton has lower thermal conductivity. The use temperature of ceramic fiber cotton is higher than 1000℃, and the temperature resistance range is 1000℃-1700℃.
The application temperature of rock wool is generally about 600℃.
03 Differences in Applications
Ceramic fiber cotton can not only heat preservation at low temperature of 200℃, but also can do 500℃ heat preservation at medium temperature, but also can do 1000℃ fire insulation, ceramic fiber is very suitable for industrial kiln and other industrial equipment heat insulation material;
Rock wool is generally used for thermal insulation of about 500℃, mostly used for thermal pipe, boiler insulation, insulation in the construction industry.
