Chemical mineral composition
The chemical mineral composition of refractory materials mainly depends on its raw materials. For example, siliceous refractory materials are mainly composed of quartz, and clay refractory materials are mainly composed of clay minerals such as kaolinite and dikaiite.
Microstructure
The microstructure of refractory materials includes crystal phase, glass phase and gas phase. The crystalline phase is the crystalline part of the refractory material, the glass phase is the amorphous part filled in between the crystalline phases and plays a bonding role, and the gas phase is the bubbles that exist in the refractory material. The microstructure has a great influence on the physical properties and service performance of refractory materials.
Physical properties
The physical properties of refractory materials mainly include density, porosity, water absorption, hardness, wear resistance, etc. These properties are closely related to the microstructure and affect the strength and thermal shock resistance of the material.
