The ceramic fiber blanket is made by melting the raw materials at a high temperature above 2000°C, making ceramic fiber loose cotton by blowing or spinning process, and then making ceramic fiber blanket by double-sided needle punching process. The ones produced by the blowing process are called blowing blankets; the ones made by the spinning process are called spinning blankets. So what is the difference between blown blankets and silk blankets?
01 Fiber diameter
The spinning fiber is thicker, with a diameter of 3.0-5.0 μm; the diameter of the spinning fiber is 2.0-3.0 μm;
02 Fiber length
The spinning fiber is longer, the length is 150-250mm, and the spinning fiber is generally 100-200mm;
03 Thermal conductivity
Due to the finer fibers of the blowing blanket, the thermal conductivity is lower than that of the spinning blanket;
04 Flexural tensile strength
Due to the thicker fibers, the fluffy spinning blanket is better than the blowing blanket in terms of flexural and tensile strength;
05 Ceramic fiber module application
The ceramic fiber module is formed by folding and compressing the ceramic fiber blanket, and the quality of the module determines the quality of the furnace lining. Spinning blankets are better than blowing blankets due to their thicker and longer fibers. During the folding process of block production, blowing fiber blankets are easy to break and tear, while spinning fiber blankets can be folded very tightly and are not easily damaged;
06 Advantages of installation method
The ceramic fiber blanket layer-paved insulation structure is often used in thermal equipment such as waste heat boilers. Durable and tough spinning blankets should be selected.
