Production Method Of Ceramic Fiber Blanket

Nov 04, 2022

Ceramic fiber blankets, also known as aluminum silicate fiber blankets, are mainly used as building materials for thermal insulation pipes. Due to the special production method and technological process, the interlacing degree and tensile strength of the fiber are greatly improved, making it have good processability and stability under high temperature and low temperature conditions.

01 Main production methods of ceramic fibers

The melting of ceramic fiber raw materials generally uses electric furnaces as melting equipment, mainly including resistance furnaces and electric arc furnaces. Fiber forming methods are divided into blowing method, spinning method and spinning-blowing method.

02 Ceramic fiber process

Arc-blown fiber-forming and wet-laid felting process:

The raw material is melted in an electric arc furnace to form a stream, and the stream is blown by compressed air or steam to become fibers. The finished fiber is sent to the stirring tank for slag removal, and then sent to the storage tank, where the adhesive is applied to form a slurry. The slurry is molded by a press or vacuum filtered, and dried to form a finished product of ceramic fiber cotton.

03 Process flow of "needled blanket"

"Needle-punched blanket" is developed by reference to the non-woven acupuncture technology. When the loose fiber blank is sent to the needle-punching machine for acupuncture, the fiber layers are closely interwoven with each other due to the hook-shaped stitches on the needle, so as to improve the tensile strength and weather resistance of the fiber blanket.
