In-depth Interpretation Of Zirconium-containing Aluminum Silicate Fiber Modules

Apr 07, 2022

Zirconium-containing aluminum silicate fiber module, literally, refers to a folding module made of ceramic fiber cotton containing zirconium oxide.

Origin: Aluminum silicate fiber is a common refractory insulation material, which can meet the insulation of most high-temperature thermal equipment. The temperature resistance of ceramic fibers mainly depends on the alumina content. According to the purity of alumina, ceramic fibers can be divided into ordinary type, standard type, high-purity type, high-alumina type, etc. The refractory temperature is increased from 850 degrees to 1150 degrees. Among them, the alumina content of high-alumina ceramic fibers is 52%-55%, which belongs to the high aluminum content in ceramic fibers. Due to the limitation of the process, higher-purity alumina fibers cannot be easily obtained, and the cost is extremely high, which is not accepted by the market, so the zirconia component is introduced. Zirconia is chemically inactive, and has the properties of high melting point, high resistivity, high refractive index and low thermal expansion coefficient, making it an important high temperature resistant material. The introduction of zirconia components increases the classification temperature of ceramic fibers from 1400 degrees of high alumina ceramic fibers to 1430 degrees.

Classification: According to the content of zirconia in the ceramic fiber, it can be divided into zirconium-aluminum type and zirconium-containing type. The zirconia content of zirconium-aluminum type is 5%-7%, and the 24-hour operating temperature is 1200 degrees; the zirconium-containing type zirconia content is 15%-17%, and the 24-hour operating temperature is 1260 degrees.
