How To Maintain Ceramic Fiber Products in High Temperature Operation?

Ceramic fiber products have high temperature resistance, fire resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, good chemical stability and long service life. In the long-term operation of ceramic fibers, some factors that reduce the service life will inevitably occur due to bumps, sticking, etc. During the service life of ceramic fiber blankets, modules and boards, regular and correct maintenance of ceramic fiber blankets and modules can greatly extend the service life of ceramic fiber products and improve their thermal insulation performance.

Material selection

The premise of ensuring a long service life of ceramic fiber products is to first choose ceramic fiber products with better quality, because high-quality ceramic fiber blankets, ceramic fiber modules, ceramic fiber boards, ceramic fiber special-shaped parts generally undergo special processing in the production process, which can provide anti-fouling, dust-proof and wear-resistant guarantee.

Inspection prevention

In the process of construction, installation and use of ceramic fiber blankets, modules and other products, frequent inspection is an important step in preventive work.

a. Before installing ceramic fiber products, check whether the ceramic fiber products are in good condition and whether they are polluted by rainwater. If so, they should be discarded. Ceramic fiber products soaked in water are difficult to dry. Even if they are dried, the thermal conductivity of ceramic fibers will be affected to a certain extent, and the thermal insulation effect will be reduced. Therefore, users of ceramic fiber products, especially large-scale users, such a customers for tunnel kiln, customers for heat treatment furnace must take measures to prevent rain and moisture in advance before purchasing refractory insulation materials.

b. During the use of high-temperature heat-insulating refractory cotton, if any damage is found, it should be dealt with in time to reduce losses as much as possible.

Regular maintenance

After the user installs the module, in order to increase the wind erosion resistance of the fibers on the surface of the module, and work for a longer time without damage to the surface, we can finally brush a layer of high temperature resistant curing agent on the module. The curing agent is composed of inorganic binders, dispersants, additives and other materials. After curing, the surface becomes a ceramic hard shell. It can improve the corrosion resistance of the fiber lining and the shape of the lining, and prolong the service life of the kiln fiber lining. The curing agent is cured in about 12 hours at room temperature, and cured in about 2 hours in a drying (110°C) environment. The kiln is regularly inspected, usually once a year. During this maintenance period, the protective layer - high temperature curing agent is applied, and once a year for the kiln lining. For ceramic fiber boards, ceramic fiber special-shaped parts, etc. that are exposed to high-temperature hot surfaces, a reasonable brushing cycle should be selected according to the actual application for regular surface protection treatment.
