01. Look at the color
The classification of ceramic fiber blankets is based on the purity of the alumina in the product. From this perspective, this selection inertia still makes sense. For example, the ordinary type is made of raw materials, with many impurities, and the color is slightly dark yellow; the standard type has some dull white; if it looks white and bright at a glance, it is designated as a high-purity material; it is worth noting that, The zirconium-containing type with higher temperature resistance is more milky white in color. Don't be surprised if you see a yellow-green fiber blanket, it is a chromium-containing fiber blanket with chromium components, which can withstand high temperatures of 1400 °C.
02. Try it out
To identify ceramic fiber blankets, you still have to try them out. Generally speaking, high-quality ceramic fiber blankets have clear texture, regular acupuncture patterns, and low slag content. Tear by hand, the fiber blanket with strong toughness is the top grade.
03. Feel the touch
Spun silk blankets and blown blankets can be distinguished by touch. The ceramic fiber blanket has long and thick fibers, which are sticky to the touch, and has strong toughness and is not suitable for breaking; while the fiber of the blown blanket is thin and short, soft and fluffy to the touch, and the tension is insufficient. Therefore, silk-spun cotton is generally used as a high-temperature insulation blanket or processed into modules, while blown cotton is mostly used to make ceramic fiber paper and ceramic fiber board.
