How Long Do Concrete Gas Logs Last?

Dec 04, 2023

Concrete Gas Logs can last for years as long as they are cared for properly. They will not accumulate creosote in the same way that wood does, so you do not have to worry about cleaning them out during the off-season.

Every year though, before firing up your fireplace again after it has been dormant all summer, have a professional inspect it for any damage. If you catch any issues with the fireplace early, they can be fixed before they become bigger problems.

One of the main things to look out for is cracking in your concrete logs. Cracks can allow water and air into the chimney system which will eventually cause more cracks. These cracks can also create a fire hazard, so it is important to address them as soon as possible.

Concrete Gas Logs are not the best option if you have a smaller fireplace. They will take up more space and may be too heavy for your chimney system.
