Can Ceramic Fiberboard Come Into Contact With Flame

Ceramic fiber board is a light-weight refractory and heat-insulating plate, which is widely used in industrial kiln lining or heat insulation of heating equipment.

When the insulation thickness is guaranteed, the ceramic fiber board can prevent the transmission of hot air as much as possible. For example, in the industrial furnace with 1000C long time working temperature, except furnace door is sealed with ceramic fiber coil, the refractory insulation layer is using ceramic fiber board or module for insulation, the insulation thickness is 400mm, and the outside temperature of the furnace wall can be reduced to about 45 degrees. This is an excellent insulation effect.

Therefore, the ceramic fiber is mainly for insulation and not suitable to be fired or burned directly. At present, high-temperature furnaces are basically equipped with a load bearing plate, and all heating elements including containers for the elements are fired on the load bearing plate to avoid heating directly on the ceramic fiberboard at the bottom of the high-temperature furnace, which may cause damage of high temperature furnace hearth due to uneven local force or too high local temperature.
