Ceramic fibers, aluminum silicate fibers, and alumina fibers are very similar. Many people in the industry in mullite fiber needle punched blankets only understand the products they make, so they don't know the differences and differences between them.
Ceramic fiber is the general name of alumina fiber and aluminum silicate fiber. Because it is a kind of ceramic materials without high-alumina fiber machine non-metal materials, it is called ceramic fiber. Both aluminum silicate and alumina belong to the aluminum-silicon refractory materials, and only the content of AL2O3 and the content of the main solid phase composition of the alumina fiber are called differently. The main crystal phase is aluminum silicate (the content of AL2O3 is about 30-69%), which is called aluminum silicate fiber. The fiber whose main crystal phase is alumina (al2O3 content above 90%) is called alumina fiber. These fibers are made into cotton-like fibers by means of spraying and spinning after the respective solid mineral deposits are melted. These cotton-like fibers can be made into ceramic fiber blankets by needle-punching, and can be made into ceramic fiber paper, ceramic fiber board, etc. by adding bonding agent to wet compaction and drying. From the point of view of temperature resistance, the temperature resistance of aluminum silicate fiber is 1260~1450℃, and the temperature resistance of alumina fiber is 1700℃~1800℃. However, from the current market point of view, the application range of aluminum silicate fiber products is relatively high. Most industries will not exceed the high temperature of 1500 degrees, the second is the high cost of polycrystalline mullite and alumina fiber, and the third is because of the immature technology, the corresponding products of polycrystalline mullite and alumina fiber are less, and it is not satisfactory. Application requirements, so aluminum silicate fiber products are more accustomed to the current industrial environment.
