Double-sided needle-punched ceramic fiber blankets are manufactured by allowing loose ceramic fiber wool to naturally settle onto a collection conveyor, forming a uniform fiber mat. Through a double-sided needle-punching process, a binder-free, dry-process needle-punched ceramic fiber blanket is produced.
Why Is Needle Punching Required?
The needle-punching process is incorporated during production because spun long fibers, after undergoing double-sided needle punching, exhibit improved toughness, high resilience, and strong tensile strength. The double-sided needle-punching process significantly enhances fiber interlocking, delamination resistance, tensile strength, and surface flatness of the ceramic fiber blanket.
Although differences among various needle-punching processes are not substantial, ceramic fiber blankets with a more orderly fiber orientation and clearer surface pattern present a more uniform and aesthetically pleasing appearance, along with stronger tensile and delamination resistance.
