High-Temperature Polycrystalline Mullite Blanket

High-Temperature Polycrystalline Mullite Blankets are produced using a specially enhanced needling process that requires no additives or binding agents. This advanced manufacturing technique significantly improves fiber integration, enhances delamination resistance, and provides high tensile strength while maintaining flexibility. The straightforward installation process facilitates efficient furnace lining construction. Additionally, the blanket exhibits excellent resistance to most chemical attacks, except when exposed to hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and strong alkalis.

Description

Product Introduction

High-Temperature Polycrystalline Mullite Blanket is a high-performance refractory material composed of mullite crystal fibers. It is manufactured using a chemical "colloidal process" to produce a high-purity precursor solution, which is then fiberized through blowing or spinning to form raw fiber wool. This fibrous material undergoes multiple advanced processing steps, including high-temperature sintering, to achieve its final form.

Exhibiting outstanding resistance to high temperatures, excellent thermal stability, and superior chemical durability, this fiber blanket can operate continuously within the long-term continuous operating temperature from 1260°C to 1400°C and the maximum short-term operating temperature of 1600°C. It retains strong structural integrity and effective thermal insulation properties even under extreme heat.

Widely used in thermal insulation and energy-saving applications, High-Temperature Polycrystalline Mullite Blankets serve various high-temperature industrial sectors including metallurgy, petrochemicals, power generation, ceramics, and glass. As an environmentally friendly material, it offers a lightweight yet highly efficient solution for refractory and insulation needs.

Polycrystalline Mullite High-temperature Fiber Installation Standards

Polycrystalline mullite high-temperature fiber is a new refractory material with a wide range of applications. However, polycrystalline mullite fiber is relatively lightweight and requires more complex installation procedures.

For batch furnaces operating at temperatures up to 1250°C (1250°F), if the furnace body is a brickwork structure, the surface to which the polycrystalline mullite fiber is applied must be cleaned and decontaminated before applying. Dust and dirt must not be allowed.

For batch furnaces operating at temperatures up to 1250°C (1250°F), if the furnace body is an all-fiber structure, the surface to which the polycrystalline mullite fiber is applied must be smoothed with a tool before applying. Fiber fragments and broken fibers must not be present. For industrial furnaces operating between 1250°C and 1380°C, if the furnace body is cast and rammed integrally, the furnace body surface must be roughened after the formwork is removed. V-shaped grooves, 3-5mm wide and 3-5mm deep, should be created in both the vertical and horizontal directions at intervals of 80-150mm. The surface should then be cleaned with compressed air before applying the polycrystalline mullite fiber.

For industrial furnaces operating between 1250°C and 1380°C, if the furnace body is brick-lined, the surface must be roughened to create 300-400 rough spots per square meter before applying the fiber. Finally, the treated surface must be cleaned with compressed air before applying the polycrystalline mullite fiber.

In addition to all-fiber linings, the burner bricks must also have a raised platform structure. Otherwise, a 100mm area around the burner brick opening will be left unused during fiber application. Before the fiber is pasted on various industrial furnaces, the average temperature inside the furnace must be between 10 and 40 degrees Celsius, otherwise construction is not allowed.
