Rockwall takes volcanic rock and transforms it into stone wool. From abundant lava deposits, the rocks are melted in a cupola furnace, like a controlled man-made volcano. The re-melted lava is then spun, given treatment to make it water repellant and bound together in a wool-like fleece.
This stone wool is a very versatile and natural material with lots of benefits that make it ideal for thermal insulation, fire protection, acoustic control and environmental purposes. During the manufacturing process, Rockwool insulation is cut, shaped and combined into many different products for a wide variety of applications.
Rockwool can be used for roof insulation, floor insulation, ceiling insulation and internal wall insulation. It can also be used in basements, sheds, garages and chimneys. It can help raise a building's fire resilience, provide acoustic insulation and reduce heating loss in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Rockwool sound insulation slabs are one of our best sellers and provide high performance across a range of acoustic needs.
