Refractory ceramic mats (blankets) are a ready-to-use high-tech product. When forming a blanket to give it mechanical strength, endurance of specified thicknesses and densities, the fiber is passed through a needle-punching machine, stitching with a fiber included in its structure. Then heat treatment takes place to reduce shrinkage at operating temperatures and eliminate organic compounds.
The fiber has the same excellent chemical stability that their starting materials have. It is not affected by most chemicals (with the exception of hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acids, and concentrated ). It has excellent strength before and after heating. It has excellent thermal insulation, as well as acoustic qualities. The wide range of densities and thicknesses produced make it possible to use their excellent thermal characteristics in a variety of applications with maximum efficiency.
SUNTHERM mats (blankets) are completely inorganic products and therefore, when heated for the first time, no products and harmful emissions are formed. The warranty service life, provided that there are no mechanical influences, the implementation of methodological recommendations for installation, when meeting the requirements of the rules of operation of thermal and mechanical equipment, is up to 60 years.
