Ceramic fiber production method

Ceramic fiber according to the composition, can be divided into glass (amorphous) fiber and polycrystalline (crystalline) fiber two categories.

1. Production method of glass fiber
The production method of glassy ceramic fiber is to melt the raw material in the resistance furnace, and the high temperature melt flow stream flows out from the discharge port to the spinning roll of the multi-roll centrifuge. The centrifugal force of the spinning roll will spin the high temperature melt into the fibrous material. High temperature melt streams can also be blown into fibrous materials after quenching under the action of high speed jet force.

2. Polycrystalline fiber production method
There are two ways to produce polycrystalline ceramic fiber: gelatinization method and precursor method.
Colloidal method: soluble aluminum salt, silicon salt and so on into a certain viscosity of colloidal solution, solution flow through the compressed air blowing method or centrifugal disc spinning into fiber, and then heat treatment into aluminum silicon oxide crystal fiber.
Precursor method: make soluble aluminum salt and silicon salt into colloidal solution of certain viscosity, absorb the colloidal solution with precursor (expanded organic fiber), and then heat treatment to transform into aluminum silicon oxide crystal fiber.
